Milan – the magical city

If you still don’t know where to go for your holiday, you should not worry. There are many amazing places all around Europe, which you can visit without planning your visits for months. There is also one magical city, which is perfect for holidays.

Milan is just perfect for everybody who loves architecture, as there are many amazing building, including cathedrals and churches. The most famous cathedral, often regarded as the symbol of the city, is commonly known as the Duomo. It is the third biggest church all over the Europe (right after Romanian St Peters as well as the other cathedral located in Seville). This amazing cathedral has more than 3500 statues and 135 spires, and all of them are beautifully curved! You can also visit the rooftop (either by stair or by lift) and admire the beautiful and breath-taking view.  If you are lucky and the day is sunny and uncloudy, you will be even able to see the snow-capped Alps, located outside the city! If you are an enthusiast of architecture, you should also visit placed called Villa Necchi Campiglio. It is an amazing example of Milanese modernism. It is possible that you have already seen in the movie called “I Am Love” (2009).

But Milan has also many things to offer apart from its amazing architecture. For example, you can visit the opera which is the most famous one in the world – the Teatro alla Scala. You can watch there both opera spectacles or ballet performances. There are also great art galleries, as for example Pinacoteca di Brera, where you can admire the best art collections in the whole Italy. There is also the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, where you can admire famous the Musician, a painting by Leonardo da Vinci. If you like art, you definitely cannot miss the famous Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper, Il Cenacolo. This famous fresco is placed in the monastery located next to the Santa Maria delle Grazie church. Unfortunately, it might be really difficult to get entrance tickets, due to the huge popularity of the fresco. The easiest way to do it is to book one of available city tours, as they have some already booked tickets for its participants. Furthermore, Milan is famous for fashion! Therefore, you should definitely visit some of its famous boutiques and elegant shops.
